The Gist of Early Night Reminder
Awake half the night, slow in the morning, better once the football came good. Ended with a promise to do better by bedtime.
02:20. Still awake. Got up for a poo, came back and tried to sleep. It started to work, then Lily jumped on me and reset it. I shifted, she settled, I didn’t. Watched the dark for a while, counted nothing. The watch says I finally fell asleep at 03:15, but I was restless afterwards. Morning came too soon — need a snooze.
Walked Ruth to the bottom of the road, where the street lights took over, keeping her company. Came home, had toast and coffee, then set off for the shop just after eight. Wrong time. Swarmed by school kids, all elbows and rucksacks, but made it through unscathed.
Took a while getting going today. The lack of sleep is catching up; the mind is struggling to keep pace with the body.
Listened to City away to Villarreal on the Man City app. Two–nil away from home. Happy with that.
Overall, it was a relatively uneventful day, with one notable highlight. Memo to self — early night.
