Well, it’s happening! Ruth (the wife) and I are finally going on holiday together, alone for the first time since our honeymoon. That was 30 years ago.
We plan lots of firsts on this 6 night Isle of Wight holiday of ours. The first of these firsts, mmhh, too many firsts there. Whoops and now another one! The first of these firsts (ahh) is Ruth’s first ride on a Hovercraft. The hovercraft operates between Southsea and Ryde on the Isle of Wight.
So why use the Southsea to Ryde, Isle of Wight Hovercraft?
- Ruth has never been on a hovercraft
- We can get a lift to the hoverport, so no need to worry about catching a train.
- It is the fastest way across the Solent, the Solent sits between the Isle of Wight and the mainland.
- Ryde’s hoverport is next to the bus station, neither of us drives, so buses all the way!
How did Ruth get on? She loved it and would do it again. Maybe in another 30 years mind!
